The new Sonos ARC

Some exciting news in an otherwise very dismal environment, is the new Sonos ARC which is due for worldwide release on the 10th June 2020. The new Sonos ARC will be replacing the Sonos Playbar and Playbase which have been very popular soundbars for Sonos. Those who have them will testify of the explosive sound they produce - so building on that - we believe the ARC will be on another level.
A lot has changed in the world of speakers, with smart speakers coming to the fore-front - and Sonos has embraced this, and retired the Playbase and Playbar to make way for a next generation of soundbar which will feature both Google Assist, and Amazon Alexa embedded in the speaker. TV's have become bigger, so they have made the ARC wider at 114cm to comfortably enhance the aesthetics of your room.
The ARC is able to sit comfortably on your TV cabinet, or mounted on the wall - and will adjust it's frequency response with the Sonos APP to give you the best sound experience based on your choice of mounting. It's a lot curvier than the Playbar - but in a good way, the design has been well though out - and looks like a high-end piece of sound equipment - and it should, because it really is.
The biggest feature in the new Sonos ARC is undoubtedly the inclusion of Dolby Atmos. This is achieved in terms of signal through the new eARC (enhanced audio return) format which returns Dolby Atmos signals from TV's that can handle the output. The Sonos ARC itself has 11 Class D Digital Amplifiers, and 11 Custom drivers. Eight of those drivers are elliptical woofers, and the other 3 are silk dome tweeters, 2 of which point diagonally in the room to give you the Atmos effect.
For those of you who have not yet experienced Dolby Atmos, it basically creates a new dimension of sound by creating a center of the room ceiling channel to create a dome like effect in surround sound. The Atmos brings an immersive 360 degree sound effect into your home. It's a game changer.
