Introducing the AUDAC VEXO206

AUDAC VEXO206 – Extraordinary Full-Range Performance in a Compact Package

In professional audio, there's traditionally been a compromise.

If you want serious output, you install a large loudspeaker.

If you want something discreet enough to integrate elegantly into a restaurant, hotel, retail environment or modern commercial space, you accept less output and often add more loudspeakers—or a subwoofer—to compensate.

The AUDAC VEXO206 has been designed to challenge that assumption.

Part of AUDAC's new-generation VEXO2xx high-performance loudspeaker family, the VEXO206 combines two custom 6.5-inch low-frequency drivers, a compression high-frequency driver and a purpose-designed horn in an unusually slim enclosure.

The result is a compact professional loudspeaker capable of delivering genuinely powerful, full-range sound while remaining architecturally discreet.

For system designers and installers, that combination is extremely interesting.

Meet the AUDAC VEXO206

The VEXO206 is a 2.5-way, high-output installation loudspeaker designed for applications where sound quality, output, coverage and aesthetics all matter.

AUDAC positions the VEXO206 between the smaller VEXO106 and larger VEXO208, providing significantly more capability than you'd normally expect from such a narrow enclosure.

At its heart are:

  • 2 × custom 6.5-inch low-frequency drivers

  • Compression high-frequency driver

  • Custom-designed dispersion horn

  • 500 W program power handling

  • 1000 W peak power handling

  • 95 dB sensitivity

  • Maximum continuous SPL of 119 dB

  • Frequency response of 69 Hz – 20 kHz ±3 dB

  • Extended frequency range down to 60 Hz (-10 dB)

  • 8-ohm nominal impedance

But specifications only tell part of the story.

What makes the VEXO206 particularly interesting is what AUDAC has managed to achieve within its compact form factor.

Two 6.5-Inch Drivers. One Surprisingly Serious Loudspeaker.

At first glance, the VEXO206 doesn't look like a loudspeaker capable of filling a demanding commercial environment.

That's deliberate.

Its enclosure is only approximately 560 mm wide, 211 mm high and 220 mm deep, allowing it to disappear into architecture far more effectively than many conventional high-output PA loudspeakers.

Inside, however, AUDAC uses two specially developed 6.5-inch drivers, each featuring a 1.5-inch voice coil.

Rather than simply placing two conventional drivers into a small enclosure, the entire system has been engineered as a 2.5-way design.

This allows AUDAC to optimise how the drivers interact across the frequency spectrum while maintaining the wide dispersion required for commercial installations.

The result is substantial output without the visual bulk normally associated with professional sound reinforcement.

Full-Range Sound Without Automatically Requiring a Subwoofer

This may be one of the VEXO206's most useful characteristics.

AUDAC describes the VEXO206 as delivering an extraordinary full-range sound experience, specifically engineering it to provide rich low-frequency performance despite the compact cabinet.

Its rated response reaches 69 Hz at ±3 dB, with useful extension down to approximately 60 Hz at -10 dB.

For many installations, that's enough to operate the VEXO206 as a genuinely capable standalone loudspeaker.

Think about applications such as:

  • Restaurants

  • Coffee shops

  • Retail stores

  • Corporate environments

  • Conference venues

  • Hotel public spaces

  • Gyms

  • Sports facilities

  • Museums

  • Entertainment venues

In many of these environments, the goal isn't nightclub-level sub-bass.

What matters is warm, convincing music reproduction combined with excellent speech intelligibility and enough output to remain effortless when the venue becomes busy.

That's exactly where the VEXO206 becomes compelling.

Of course, where serious low-frequency impact is required, the VEXO206 can be combined with AUDAC's BASSO subwoofer range.

Wide Coverage Means Fewer Loudspeakers

Loudspeaker coverage is one of the most important—and frequently overlooked—parts of commercial audio design.

Simply making a speaker louder doesn't necessarily improve a system.

If coverage is narrow or inconsistent, some customers experience excessive volume while others struggle to hear clearly.

AUDAC developed a custom horn specifically for the VEXO206 to produce exceptionally broad, consistent dispersion.

The measured average coverage is approximately:

117° horizontal × 114° vertical

across the specified 1 kHz–4 kHz measurement range.

That is exceptionally wide coverage for a high-performance installation loudspeaker.

Why does that matter?

Because good dispersion allows an installer to cover a larger area more consistently.

Instead of solving coverage problems by simply installing more loudspeakers, a correctly designed VEXO206 system can potentially achieve the desired coverage using fewer units.

That can reduce:

  • Hardware requirements

  • Amplifier channels

  • Cabling

  • Installation time

  • Visual clutter

  • Overall project complexity

And most importantly, listeners experience more consistent sound throughout the venue.

119 dB Maximum SPL From a Compact Cabinet

Compact doesn't mean quiet.

The VEXO206 offers:

250 W AES continuous power handling

500 W program power

1000 W peak power

with 95 dB 1W/1m sensitivity and a specified 119 dB continuous maximum SPL.

That gives the VEXO206 substantial headroom for demanding installations.

A restaurant, for example, can use the system quietly during lunch service and increase the energy significantly during evening entertainment without immediately pushing the loudspeaker beyond its comfortable operating range.

Similarly, a gym or sports facility can achieve the required intelligibility and musical impact without installing visually dominant large-format PA cabinets throughout the venue.

Designed to Look Like Part of the Architecture

Commercial audio isn't installed in isolation.

Architects and interior designers increasingly expect technology to complement the environment rather than dominate it.

AUDAC has clearly paid attention to this.

The VEXO206 introduces a refined curved cabinet design with an ultra-fine perforated steel grille, creating a considerably more architectural appearance than the traditional boxy PA speaker.

The logo can also be rotated, allowing the branding to remain correctly orientated whether the speaker is installed horizontally or vertically.

The enclosure is available in:

VEXO206/B – Black

VEXO206/W – White

This makes the loudspeaker easier to integrate into both dark entertainment environments and lighter architectural interiors.

DuraCoat™ – Designed for Professional Environments

Commercial loudspeakers live harder lives than domestic speakers.

They're mounted permanently, cleaned repeatedly, exposed to busy environments and expected to perform for years.

The VEXO206 uses a rugged 15 mm multi-ply plywood cabinet with AUDAC's multi-layer protective finish.

The steel grille is powder-coated and backed with acoustic foam.

AUDAC has also incorporated additional grille support to improve impact resistance.

This combination allows the speaker to maintain a premium appearance while remaining suitable for demanding commercial environments.

Flexible Installation – Horizontal or Vertical

A good installation loudspeaker needs to adapt to the building.

The VEXO206 can be installed either horizontally or vertically using the supplied mounting bracket.

AUDAC has gone a step further with its redesigned bracket system.

Installers can select between two mounting positions.

Close-to-wall installation

The cabinet sits tight against the architecture for the cleanest possible visual appearance.

This is ideal for restaurants, retail spaces, corporate environments and architectural installations where discretion is important.

Offset installation

The speaker can alternatively sit slightly further away from the wall, providing additional positioning and tilt flexibility.

Visually, this can also create an elegant floating appearance.

It's a small engineering detail that makes a significant difference during real-world installation.

Powerdrive Compatibility

For installations requiring alternative mounting arrangements, the VEXO206 supports AUDAC Powerdrive Type 75 mounting.

An optional CHB196 35 mm pole adapter is also available.

This makes the VEXO206 equally interesting for fixed installations and applications requiring greater mounting flexibility.

8 Ohm or 70/100V – The Installer Gets the Choice

One particularly important feature is the VEXO206's flexibility when designing distributed audio systems.

As standard, the VEXO206 operates as an:

8-ohm low-impedance loudspeaker.

However, optional AUDAC transformer modules allow it to be integrated into 70V and 100V distributed systems.

This dramatically expands the types of projects where the VEXO206 can be used.

A conventional low-impedance installation may be ideal for a performance venue or entertainment area where maximum output is required.

A larger hotel, retail complex or commercial facility may instead benefit from a high-impedance distributed architecture.

The same fundamental loudspeaker platform can accommodate both approaches.

Protection Built In

Professional loudspeakers frequently operate for long periods and may occasionally be driven harder than intended.

To improve reliability, AUDAC incorporates an internal limiting circuit providing compression-driver overload protection.

It's one of those features users may never notice—but system designers certainly appreciate.

The best protection system is the one quietly doing its job in the background.

When Should You Add a Subwoofer?

The VEXO206 has been designed to work remarkably well without one.

But there is an important distinction between full-range reproduction and high-impact sub-bass.

For background and foreground music, corporate spaces, retail and many hospitality environments, the VEXO206 may deliver all the bass performance required.

For:

  • Nightclubs

  • Bars

  • High-energy restaurants

  • Live entertainment

  • Sports facilities

  • Event spaces

adding a dedicated subwoofer transforms the system.

AUDAC specifically provides engineered system combinations pairing the VEXO206 with its BASSO series.

For example, AUDAC offers configurations combining multiple VEXO206 loudspeakers with the BASSO112 12-inch ultra-high-power infra-subwoofer and SMQ WaveDynamics amplification.

This creates a complete high-performance system rather than simply assembling unrelated components.

A Complete AUDAC Ecosystem

This is another reason Audico sees considerable potential in the VEXO206.

A professional audio system shouldn't be designed by selecting a loudspeaker in isolation.

AUDAC provides an ecosystem encompassing:

  • Loudspeakers

  • Subwoofers

  • Amplification

  • DSP

  • Audio distribution

  • Matrix systems

  • Wall controllers

  • Source equipment

  • Networked audio

  • System accessories

The VEXO206 can therefore become one component of a complete engineered AUDAC solution.

That matters enormously on larger projects.

Instead of asking different manufacturers' equipment to cooperate, installers can design systems where the loudspeakers, amplification and processing have been developed to work together.

Where Does the VEXO206 Make Sense?

The combination of high output, broad dispersion and discreet dimensions opens up a surprisingly wide range of applications.

Restaurants & Bars

Excellent music reproduction during normal operation with enough headroom for energetic evening entertainment.

The refined appearance also integrates naturally into modern hospitality interiors.

Hotels

Ideal for lounges, entertainment spaces, conference facilities and public areas where premium audio needs to remain architecturally discreet.

Retail

Wide coverage can help create consistent audio throughout larger stores while reducing the number of visible loudspeakers.

Corporate Environments

The VEXO206 combines strong speech intelligibility with high-quality music reproduction, making it suitable for presentation spaces, multifunction rooms and corporate entertainment areas.

Gyms & Sporting Facilities

High output and broad coverage make the VEXO206 particularly interesting where music and announcements need to remain intelligible in challenging acoustic environments.

Clubs & Entertainment Venues

Pair VEXO206 loudspeakers with BASSO subwoofers and appropriate AUDAC amplification to create a compact but seriously capable performance system.

Events

Flexible mounting, high output and compact dimensions also make the VEXO206 useful for certain mobile and temporary applications.

Small Speaker. Serious Engineering.

The most impressive thing about the AUDAC VEXO206 isn't any single specification.

It's the balance.

AUDAC has managed to combine:

Compact dimensions.

Wide dispersion.

High output.

Full-range performance.

Professional durability.

Architectural aesthetics.

Flexible mounting.

Low- or high-impedance installation options.

That's an unusually comprehensive package.

For installers, consultants and end users, it means the VEXO206 can solve projects where traditional commercial loudspeakers are either too visually intrusive or simply don't provide enough performance.

Audico + AUDAC – Designing the Complete System

At Audico, we don't believe commercial audio should begin with the question:

"How many speakers do you need"

It should begin with:

What experience are we trying to create?

The answer depends on the venue.

A restaurant needs consistency without forcing guests to shout over the music.

A retail environment needs coverage that follows customers throughout the space.

A sports facility needs intelligibility and impact.

A nightclub needs energy.

A corporate environment needs clarity.

That's why Audico approaches commercial audio as a system design, considering:

  • Room dimensions

  • Coverage

  • Listening height

  • Acoustic characteristics

  • Required SPL

  • Loudspeaker positioning

  • Amplification

  • DSP

  • Subwoofer requirements

  • Control

  • Cabling

  • Future expansion

The VEXO206 gives us an extremely versatile new tool for those designs.

The AUDAC VEXO206: Big Sound Without the Big Box

Professional audio has traditionally made high performance very visible.

The bigger the requirement, the bigger the loudspeaker.

The VEXO206 demonstrates that it doesn't always have to be that way.

With dual custom 6.5-inch drivers, a purpose-designed compression driver and horn, wide and consistent coverage, 500 W program handling and genuine full-range capability, AUDAC has created a speaker that delivers substantially more than its dimensions suggest.

For restaurants, hospitality, retail, corporate environments, sports facilities and entertainment venues, that creates exciting new possibilities.

Slim in width. Wide in coverage. Serious in performance.

That's the AUDAC VEXO206.
