A dedicated drum microphone set eliminates the need to buy individual microphones and match them for a consistent sound across the kit. Each microphone in the set is voiced and optimised for the specific drum it is intended to capture: the kick drum microphone handles the extreme low-frequency transients of the bass drum, while the smaller tom and snare microphones prioritise punch and attack.
