Product Overview

Developed by Rega engineers, the Ear incorporates a new surface mount PCB layout inspired by the acclaimed Brio-R amplifier. It guarantees outstanding performance with independent mute and volume controls, plus multiple connectivity options to suit all users.

Power Supply & Noise Reduction

The Ear advances the Brio-R power amplifier circuit concept by incorporating a low-noise, fully regulated power supply and an external mains transformer to minimise noise. It exceeds IEC 268-15 voltage requirements and offers low output impedance, making it ideal for both studio and hi-fi headphone use. The amplifier operates in Class A at normal listening levels.

High-Quality Components

Utilising premium components and expert engineering, the Ear employs a cascaded emitter follower output stage with complementary Darlington output transistors. Critical positions use polyester film and Nichicon FG capacitors, ensuring superior sonic performance and making it Rega's most advanced headphone amplifier to date.

Custom Case Design

Housed in a compact, extruded aluminium case with a high gloss front fascia, the Ear matches the current range of Rega electronics for a cohesive look. It connects easily via phono leads to the tape output of an amplifier, with headphones plugged into the front panel. A link socket is included for continued use of tape output sockets.
