The RG-EST100 uses the 2.4GHz band, which offers better wall and obstacle penetration than 5GHz and longer effective range at lower speeds — a sensible choice for non-line-of-sight links or environments with significant RF interference at 5GHz. The 70° horizontal beam is forgiving to align and the 8dBi gain is adequate for short-to-medium outdoor spans. As a pre-paired kit, both units ship ready to bridge with no setup required.
