The CA-08 is the standard cardioid capsule module and the foundation of Rycote's 08-series modular microphone system. Its cardioid polar pattern provides clear front-facing pickup with moderate rear rejection — the classic all-purpose pattern for vocals, instruments, and location sound. Without a suspension housing, the CA-08 is designed to be used with Rycote's compatible mounts, shock mounts, or custom rigs. It pairs with the CA-08 SP for applications requiring vibration isolation, or with the stereo SP variant where a matched pair is needed. The 08-series' modular design means capsules and mounts are interchangeable.
