The OM-08 is the bare omnidirectional capsule module in Rycote's 08-series system. The omnidirectional polar pattern captures sound equally from all directions, making it ideal for room and environmental ambience recording, group discussion setups, or as a component in more complex microphone arrays such as Ambisonics. Without an SP suspension housing, the OM-08 is intended for use with separate mounting hardware or integration into custom-built mic rigs where low-profile or lightweight installation is a priority.
