Synology DiskStation DS124 — compact 1-bay NAS with 1GB DDR4 RAM and a Realtek RTD1619B quad-core processor, designed as an entry-level personal cloud for centralised storage, backup, and home surveillance. Sold without hard drive.

The DS124 runs Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), giving access to the full Synology software ecosystem including Drive for file sync and sharing, Active Backup for PC/NAS/cloud backup, and Surveillance Station for IP camera recording. The Realtek RTD1619B provides enough processing headroom for simultaneous file sharing, photo indexing, and basic transcoding. The single 3.5-inch SATA bay accepts drives up to the current Synology HDD compatibility list maximum.
