Which SoundBar is right for me?

So you've made the decision to improve on your TV sound - your'e tired of straining to hear voices whilst music and explosions are too loud. You've realised TV speaker quality has been forfeited for thin panels - you're ready ... But? Which soundbar is right for me?

We've heard the question a thousand times - and we know it can be a daunting task choosing which soundbar would serve you best. The solution is best served by asking you a few questions:

1. You're a DSTv or Netflix guy - and simply want to expand on the experience. You're a no frills person and couldn't be bothered with music streaming and the likes - you're only looking to improve on the sound dialect by evening out the sound. Ie ... you want the vocals a bit louder, whist keeping the explosions and suspense at bay ....

You're looking for the following:

Polk Signa Solo (R1990)

JBL Bar Studio (R2390)

Denon DHT-S216 (R4790)

2. You want the above, but you also want to immerse yourself in the action, you love your movies, and you want to feel like you're part of the story line. You're looking for a richer sound and deeper bass ...

You're looking for the following:

JBL Cinema SB160 (R3990)

Denon DHT-S316 (R6790)

Klipsch Bar48 (R7840)

3. You're into your gadgets, you have at least one music streaming subscription and want the ability to stream your music over WiFi. You love music and catch a movie every now and again.

You're looking for the following:

JBL Link Bar (R7990)

Sonos Beam (R8490)

4. You want massive sound, and want to totally immerse yourself into both music and movies. You want the latest Dolby Atmos features, and want your TV lounge to sound like a cinema. You'll need all of the below, and can be bought in stages as your budget allows:

Sonos Arc (R19 990)

Sonos Sub Gen3 (R17 990)

Sonos One Package (R7 990) - for the surround channels (optional)

5. You're a distinguished gentleman and appreciate the finer things in life ... you want rich sound to match your impeccable taste in acquiring the best the sound world can offer.

You're looking for:

Bowers & Wilkins Formation Bar (R29 990)

Soundbars have come a long way, and they are closely competing with component surround sound systems. The Sonos Arc paired with a Sub will change the way in which you watch movies, and with all of the added benefits like WiFi streaming and Voice control, it makes this Audico's favourite Soundbar option. Whilst it does stretch the budget, trust us, it is worth every cent.

If you're looking for the simplicity of a one cable setup - and love your stereo setup - or even looking for a 2.1 system by adding a sub woofer, please consider the new Klipsch The Fives. A set of self powered stereo speakers which allows you to mount wide of the TV and increase your sound stage ... add a sub woofer to this - and you have a great classic setup without the clutter and confusion of an amplifier.
