By limiting impedance at the feedback point, it minimises phase shift and reduces the need for negative feedback, resulting in a simplified signal path with excellent transient response and sonic transparency. This design is less sensitive to difficult loudspeaker loads compared to conventional voltage feedback amplifiers. Marantz HDAM Technology The PM8006 features Marantz’s proprietary Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAMs), discrete circuit boards that outperform standard integrated op-amps in slew rate and noise reduction. The high-grade SA3 HDAM version ensures dynamic, accurate, and detailed sound reproduction with short, symmetrical signal paths for left and right channels. Marantz Musical Phono EQ The Marantz Musical Phono EQ stage delivers premium phono preamp performance with a simplified signal path to minimise distortion and noise. It uses two-stage amplification with HDAMs and JFET input transistors for high input impedance and removes AC coupling capacitors for improved signal purity. The RIAA equalisation is split into passive and active sections, with Class A operation for clean, open sound, eliminating the need for an external phono stage upgrade. Toroidal Transformer The high-efficiency toroidal transformer delivers more power with lower electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibration compared to conventional EI core transformers, contributing to improved sound quality and reliability. High-Quality Electric Volume Control The newly developed electric volume control IC provides better channel separation, dynamic range, and distortion reduction while maintaining the tactile feel of analogue controls, ensuring an engaging and precise musical experience. Original Marantz SPKT-1+ Speaker Terminals The speaker terminals are made of massive brass with thick silver plating for optimal contact. Positioned close to the main circuit board, they reduce signal path length, supporting the amplifier’s focus on speed and dynamic performance. The terminals support A/B speaker switching for flexible setup.
