Small, Intelligent and Elegant, the Door & Window Sensor

The Aeotec Door/Window Detector Gen5 is a Z-Wave sensor that detects whether a door or window is open or closed.

The detector uses two magnetic units to detect movement; one is placed on the moving part of the door or window and the other unit on the frame. When the detector is triggered it sends an alert signal to up to five associated Z-Wave devices.

The detector is easily fitted to any door or window using screws or double-sided tape, and as it is battery-operated requires no extra wiring. Battery replacement is simple and the detector even tells you when they need replacing by flashing its LED and sending an alert to the central controller. The unit offers a tampering control and sends an alarm message when tampered. The sensor is 20% smaller than the first version, and also includes the latest stable Z-Wave technology including Z-Wave explorer frames.

Note: To be used as part of a Z-Wave network this sensor requires a suitable Z-Wave controller.

It uses a special Z-Wave wireless signal that aims to cause no interference with other technologies in your home. That same wireless signal is ultra-low power, offeriong you longer battery life. The integrated antenna can communicate over 90 meters in an open space.

Easy DIY Installation

The Door & Window Sensor is so light that you can install it using only double sided sticky tape. There are also other options including screws that are included in the package. All you'll need is a screw driver and five minutes of your time.
