Aten CL5708M — 8-port 1U rack-mount Slideaway LCD KVM switch with integrated 17-inch LED-backlit display, modular design, fingerprint reader option, and daisy-chain to 256 computers.

The Aten CL5708M is part of ATEN's Slideaway LCD KVM series — a 1U rack-mount unit combining a 17-inch LED-backlit LCD monitor, keyboard, and touchpad in a sliding chassis. The modular design separates the KVM switching section from the LCD console section, allowing either component to be serviced or replaced independently without disturbing the rest of the installation. Two consoles (one bus) can share control of up to 8 computers; daisy-chaining up to 31 additional CL5708 units extends coverage to 256 computers from a single console. An optional fingerprint identification system is available for enhanced access security on both the switch and connected servers. Supports computers with PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse connections, with keyboard and mouse emulation ensuring all connected computers boot correctly regardless of console focus. The LCD module rotates up to 120 degrees for a comfortable viewing angle. An additional hot-pluggable USB mouse port on the front panel doubles as a USB peripheral port. Multiplatform support covers Windows, Linux, Mac, and Sun.
