The Pure Link PLK-DMX5 is a 5-metre DMX512 cable with male and female XLR connectors for linking lighting controllers, distribution nodes, dimmers, LED drivers, moving heads, and DMX-controlled fixtures. The cable uses 110-ohm impedance wire as required by the DMX512 standard - DMX cable is NOT interchangeable with standard XLR microphone cable (which uses 75-ohm impedance), and using mic cable for DMX can cause signal degradation and unreliable fixture control, particularly on longer daisy-chain runs. The 5-metre length is one of the most versatile patch lengths in a lighting rig - long enough to reach fixtures at adjacent positions or to connect the controller to the first fixture without excess slack.
